Final Essay

In my early years, My parents have always emphasized that I should
distinguish between difference and wrongness. So, I have been thinking about
discrimination and this is why I chose following three articles. The first is article
about religious discrimination from Kyong Bum’s blog. Second is about
homosexuality, and last article is about race discrimination.
First, Kyong Bum’s blog says “7 terrible countries for Christians”. This
article describes the situation people who have their own faith can suffer from
discrimination and even death in some countries. I think it is absolutely
terrible that people even kill others only because of religion. Any god or any
holy book does not talk to their believer to disregard. Having a religion is
great because you overcome your hardships more easily, but freedom of religion
should exist.
Second article is from the blog of
Hyuk Joon that has title “Equal marriage arrives to the CC”, and its content is
that two homosexuals delivered protective action to get back justice and right.
I chose this article because I really not agree with Hyuk Joon’s opinion. He
wrote homosexual should be treated, but when I was a high school student, I
read the psychology book says that they were born with that characteristic. We
should respect their destiny because it is not their selection.
The last article from Ji Hye’s blog,
“Racist men abuse, spit on kids at dad’s Indian restaurant.”, is what 2 racist
men insulted and attacked kids in their family’s shop because of different races.
Racist issue like this has existed during many years. I do not condone racist behavior
in any shape. Now, the whole world is one big neighborhood, and as Ji Hye said,
we are just same human. Nowadays, there is growing recognition that we have
to eliminate segregation.
In conclusion, I picked the three articles about diverse
discrimination around the world. There are religion, LGBT, race discriminations
and so on. By finding more information, you will know that there are more types
of discrimination you never expected. On this matter, there had been many advances
in awareness. However, more changes are needed. I look forward to accepting other’s
differences.
